ABOUT US

The Italian Society of Bedford was founded in 1983 by the then Chief Education officer, Mr P. Browning; the then Italian Vice Consul, Mrs C. Mairro. Its aims and objectives are:

To promote a better understanding of Italy - the country, its history, life and culture

To foster good relations between the people of Bedford and its Italian community

The Society welcomes all who share an interest in Italians and the Italian culture, in all its aspects. Its annual calendar of events includes talks and presentations on a variety of themes; from history to art, through music appreciation to language improvement; from food and wine tasting to travel information (see our current programme as well as our past events!).

The Society relies on the efforts of a steering committee, the support of the Italian Consulate and COM.IT.ES.
